We often look around us for the answers to the questions we have, and a lot of times, we will find some sort of answer. But the most profound and lasting answers comes from within.
During this season in the history of South Africa, and probably the world, we need more than ever to find the answers we seek inside ourselves to ensure sustainable change and responsible decision making.
With the roll-out of phase two of the vaccination process starting this month, we will look at each other for support in the implementation of the roll-out as we have waited such a long time. We are not superhuman in our ability to control our emotions and the affect of this past 16 months have been devastating to some, difficult for most.
Community will always be the answer to supporting one another. We need to spirit of ubuntu to become part of our communities once again. The kingfisher is a beautiful and colourful bird with various species. Their cheerful chatter and nesting abilities are renowned and although not all the species, there are some of the kingfishers that love living in community. They have helpers that assist the breeding parents to raise the young.
As a community we can come around those in our society that need help and give the care that is needed. With Youth Day being celebrated in June, a renewed focus should accompany this day to ensure that the vulnerable in our society is cared for.
In these uncertain times, let us look at the kingfisher for motivation with their perseverance and determination in caring for their young and bringing beauty with such effortlessness to those around them.
